This past April 5th and 6th, the Fondation Pierre Fabre, in cooperation with the Faculty of Health Sciences, held an educational conference in Lom\u00e9.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The focus of this gathering was to assess the progress made in this partnership and explore new opportunities for collaboration between both entities.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

For the past five years, the support given by the Fondation Pierre Fabre to the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Lom\u00e9 has been centred on improving training for drug professionals. This collaboration has made it possible to fund refurbishment of classrooms and labs, grant scholarships (Master\u2019s, PhD) and launch teaching missions for French and African academics.<\/p>\n

The conference, attended by Togolese academic authorities, French, Senegalese, and Burkinabe academics, representatives of the Fondation Pierre Fabre, as well as pharmacy students studying the Lom\u00e9 curriculum, served to take stock of these developments. The gathering, opened by the Minister of Higher Education and Research, Mr Octave Nicou\u00e9 Broohm, was an opportunity to acknowledge the vibrant partnership between the Faculty and the Fondation Pierre Fabre, represented by its scientific advisor, Professor Jean Cros.<\/p>\n

Towards a new agreement<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event was also the chance to establish new foundations for the partnership. Representatives from the universities in Dakar and Ouagadougou, notably Professor Diouf, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at Dakar, facilitated discussions on improving consistency in pharmaceutical education in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS). These proposals will be central to the partnership agreement\u2019s renewal, scheduled for this year.<\/p>\n<\/div>
