A conference organised by Fondation Pierre Fabre on 21 November demonstrated France\u2019s strong commitment to public health worldwide.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This event also served to officially open the Foundation\u2019s new administrative headquarters in En Doyse (in Lavaur, in the Tarn department).<\/p>\n

\"Sant\u00e9<\/p>\n

For this first conference, Fondation Pierre Fabre gathered a broad representative spectrum of public and private entities that work to improve public health in countries of the South.<\/p>\n

The conference was the opportunity:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • to stress the need for balance between multilateral and bilateral funding, for global coordination between the various entities working in development aid, and the ever-increasing strength of public-private partnerships, all made clear in the presentations by Professors Marc Gentilini and Philippe Douste-Blazy;<\/li>\n
  • \u200bto share information on current programmes and recognise the importance of French initiatives in the public health field;<\/li>\n
  • to remind people of the role of the French medical research in the quest for new solutions and the need to create new aid models and properly assess them;<\/li>\n
  • demonstrate, through concrete initiatives in the field, the importance of developing human resources to implement sustainable efforts in the field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    This initiative was a chance for Fondation Pierre Fabre to contribute to the debate and heighten awareness, on the part of French entities working in development aid, of the need for a common vision, improved coordination, and enhanced planning and communication to make collective action as effective as possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>
